Blessed Day!

We often say, “Have a blessed day!” But how exactly do we do that? Well, for me this is how it is done. I begin my by saying, “Good morning Lord, Jehovah. Thank you for another day of grace and mercy.” Lamentations 3:22-23,” Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. After that I pray for my family and friends.

So many thoughts occur during that first hour of prayer that causes me to be very thankful. For example, I have a roof over my head, food to eat and feed my family, I am able to dress myself, wash myself, and work—so count your blessings, many people are not able to do or have these simple things. These blessings are benefits but the ultimate blessing comes when I ask God to use me today, for His purpose, that I may share the good news of the gospel.

In 2017, my son Lawrence had an early morning basketball game in Oswego, IL. So I dropped him off and headed to a gas station as I was running on empty. As I arrived at the gas station, I was wearing my Jesus t-shirt, which I love to do, and this one said, “Jesus wept.” John 11:35. I began to pump gas in my car and a pick-up truck pulled up right next to me. A young man got out of the truck, looked at me and said, “I like your shirt.” Then he said, “I am working on bringing God back into my life.´ Then he spoke about not having his father—physically—in his life, and how he met an old gentleman (96 years of age) whom he met while selling door to door. The old man invited him to come back and visit any time he wanted.

But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.  When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the Lord your God and obey him. For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath.  Deuteronomy 4:29-31  (NIV)

I could see the pain of his father not spending time with him on his face as we talked. Then I said, “I was that father at one time because of my drug addiction. Then he talked about his two kids and how he was saving up to get married. Just then a sign at the gas station catch my eye which he read, “Jesus loves you, God bless America.” I told him to look at the sign and he responded by saying, “Wow!” He smiled at me and reached into his truck and handed me a business flyer with his personal number on it. I asked him if it would be okay if I sent him a Bible scripture every day; he said yes.

Two years have passed and we still communicate almost daily. He is growing in his trust in God, working hard on being a good father, and providing for his family. We, Christians, are more than just the hands and feet of God. Sometimes we are the eyes, the ears, and/or the voice. Don’t sell God short for He is a whole person! He is truly everything and you can be His person here on earth by sharing His love, mercy, and compassion with the world.

God’s Love Trancends

My Dad passed away three years ago. The only father I knew other than the son of God, Jesus Christ. Even though he was not my biological father, I trusted him with the most important person in my life—my mother.

I knew that no matter what would happen he would love her and protect her. Not having had any children of his own, he became our father just as God adopted us as His children through His son–For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!.” Romans 8:15.

My Dad loved us unconditionally and his actions demonstrated his love for our family—Just as God shows His love towards us all. Bebe’s kids—animated movie released in 1992 depicting a mother with lots of mischievous children—had nothing on us.

My mother passed away in December 2018, although she was sick, in pain, and frequent trips to the hospital, I did not want to lose her. God had other plans and brought her home.  As sad as I was by her passing, the Lord gave me a great vision as I was driving that day. The vision was my father with his hand extended welcoming her to her new home. I was not sure about his salvation until that vision was revealed. I was certain about my mother’s salvation as the Lord had given the privilege of praying with her and leading her to accept the Lord as her savior 10 years ago—according to “Romans 10:9, If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” The decision to accept Christ forever changed her life.

My deepest desire is for everyone whom God puts in my path to accept the Lord Jesus as his/her Lord and savior—earnestly believing Jesus is who God says He is. Two days before the funeral I thought of Karen—my little sister who passed away of sudden crib death in 1961—whom I had not thought of in over 30 years. Somehow I knew that my Dad, Mom, and Karen were in heaven together. My Dad and Mom were buried in the same veteran cemetery. My family was there for the final goodbyes. In God’s amazing love for me, He allowed to see as they are lowering my Mom’s coffin into same grave as my Dad. They were together on earth and now together in heaven.

God’s mercy towards me is so undeserving; I miss my parents so much that tears begin to well up when I think of them. The tears come from a place of deep sorrow, gratitude, and thanksgiving that God allowed me to see my parents’ lives through His eyes. May the Lord allow you to see your parents through His eyes as well. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and keep you, until then, be blessed.

Time to set boundaries are lost , from the top to the bottom. If the head is lost so shall the body be lost

It’s been about a week now since the Lord told me , This is a day that I have made. Well people I’m with that so no matter what I encounter from now on day to day. The truth is God is in charge and I will trust him to lead me forward toward his outcome and I will rejoice in it .If I worry about things I give it permission manifest. If I truly turn it to over to God and he allows it to come forth I know it’s for his glory and for me to learn and grow from it. God will help me to grow and go only in that which he has planned for my life . His will not mine. Kinda hard to swallow but who am I to question my lord. {IMG4C}

Last Monday was really cold but it turn out to be a blessing in it self .As I woke up preparing for work God spoke to my heart saying this is a day that the Lord has made rejoice and be glad in it so that’s what I did and you know it was a blessed day. How many of you had a chance to spend quality time with family ? The God of all creation has predestined everyday of your life for his purpose. Do you know your purpose ask God and he will provide the answers.

Why are Christians trying so hard to fit in ? When the truth is being born of Christ means we should stand out. The Light God put in us should shine .We are born to stand out. Read Ro.1:16. Help give more verses that says your light mush shine.
